AFL Cape York established in 2003 with the main purpose of coordinating the AFL Kickstart program. By applying for incorperation it gave the company the oportunity to further develop programs through government and Non Government partnerships.
AFLCY development staff travel to 25 different different cape York and Torres Strait Island communities rollimg out sporting and lifestyle programs. Staff are constantly reminding children of the importance of school attendance and the dangers of drugs, alchole and anti socisal behaviours by using AFL as the vehicle.
